NIHL N1 2018 / 19 Fixtures Released.
The National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) LMC are pleased to release the fixtures for NIHL North 1 (Moralee) for the 18/19 season.
The division will have ten teams in league play, with Sutton Sting returning to the top flight after winning North 2 last season. Teams will play two home and two away against each other in the league.
A separate North Cup competition has seven teams including the relaunched Murrayfield Racers. The first Cup round is one home and one away against the other six teams, with the top four sides qualifying for the semi finals.
Hawks fans will be pleased to know the clubs home game face off times are different from last season with the arena confirming that Saturday games will a slightly face off time of 6pm and Sunday games with a slightly earlier face off time of 5.30pm.
The competitive season starts on Saturday September 1 2018, running through to Sunday March 17 2019 after which the postseason “playoff campaign” will begin.
Hawks begin the new campaign with a home game on 2nd September 2018 where the opponents will be the Hull Pirates. Our first away fixture is in the new look North Cup competition where we cross Hadrian’s Wall to take on the Murrayfield Racers on Saturday 15th.
North 1 defending champions Sheffield Steeldogs begin their title defence on opening night away to Billingham Stars and promoted Sutton Sting have a home and home with Hull Pirates over the weekend of September 8/9 to kick off their return to Division 1 hockey.
Three sides from the division are playing in the Autumn Cup against sides from NIHL South 1.
The iconic Murrayfield Racers name will take its NIHL North Cup bow also at Billingham Stars on Sunday September 9.
