Blackburn Hawks Golf Day – Player Announcement

Aaron Davies

Hawks 2003-2004 – present.

What does Aaron bring to the Hawks?

Well what doesn’t Aaron bring to the Hawks? He’s been there, and won it all with the club. Not only has he been a top calibre player for nearly two decades, he has also been a great ambassador off the ice. Visiting hospitals, schools, kids groups, fans birthdays and many more events on the clubs behalf. The overriding factor that Aaron has brought to the Hawks for me is his “will to win” – 100% effort every night.

My favourite memory of Aaron in a Hawks shirt?

There have been so many for me, as Aaron always comes up big in the biggest of games, obviously all the trophies we won are up there. I literally can’t recall a semi final or final where he didn’t score. Not only that, whenever we needed a goal to change the course of a game he was always the one to get it. All those moments make this a tough one, but I know how much Aaron loved playing in front of his Dad, so to break the goal scoring record for the club and dedicate it to his old man was special. He was so proud of Aaron, a great man.

What do I think Aaron will be like as a golfer?

Well, I think Aaron will have all the gear (probably that has been donated to him), and I also think he will have something in his bag that he will have had for years and says it’s fine like new. (You should see some parts of his hockey equipment, no wonder we went through so much leg tape). Furthermore I reckon he will have a bomb of a drive that will probably come off once every five holes like his slap shot. In all honesty I think Aaron will be great fun on the golf course and one thing you can guarantee is he will have a smile on his face the whole round, even if he does go in every bunker.
