The Blackburn Hawks ice hockey team have today been contacted by Robin Kovar and he has confirmed that due to family illness he will not be returning to the UK and joining the Hawks for the forthcoming season.
Robin said, “I was really looking forward to playing for the Hawks next season and moving to the Altrincham area to continue my work as Personal Trainer unfortunately due to a family illness I will now be staying in Kazakhstan for the foreseeable future”. Robin continued, “I wish Duncs and everyone all the best for the season and hopefully one day I will be back in the UK and wear the Hawks jersey”.
On receiving the news John Neville said, “It’s very unfortunate timing for the club so close to the season but we understand Robin’s predicament and wish him well. I am sure that Hawks fans will understand this news and our thoughts and prayers are with Robin and his family”.
It’s very late in the day with the season starting next month but we will look to secure the services of a new oversea’s player prior to the start of the 2018 / 19 season.
