Three to watch on the Nottingham Lions roster

Ruslan Cernych

A Lithuanian born Defender who started in his home town Vilnius with Meteoras Vilnius in Division 2 before moving across the pond for a couple of seasons, icing for Lake Tahoe Blue, Arizona Red Hawks and San Diego Skates. Stayed in the States in 2015-16 playing in the North East Hockey League for Northeast Generals before returning to Europe with a season in the Czech 3rd division and a bit of sunshine in Spain with Logrones. Last year it was the Netherlands’ turn with a full season at Hertogenbosch then signed at the start of this season with Milton Keynes Thunder before moving up the M1 to the Lions.

Connor Glossop

21 year old local lad came through the junior set up in Nottingham before signing for the Lions in 2014-15. The following year he had one appearance in the Elite League with Manchester Storm and moved to Peterborough Phantoms in 20016 before returning to his roots and the Lions. Connor has also represented GB in the World Junior Championships in 2015-16 and 16-17.

Elliott Perrin

Another local lad, Elliot came through the junior system playing for the Cougars, Leopards and Jaguars before moving to the Lions in 2010. He has played all but 9 games of his hockey career for Nottingham teams, the one exception, moving to the darks side in 2013 with Sheffield Senators. He was appointed captain of the Lions in 2016-17

Hawks had a devastating defeat 3-9 at home to the Solway Sharks where they more than competed for the first period but appeared to lose their way against the potent Sharks who put the game beyond them. Last home game against the Lions, we only saw 20 minutes of hockey but a 4-0 score line after that first period gives hope that they can get back on track this weekend.
