Weekend Preview

Your Full 9 Yards sponsored Blackburn Hawks have a road trip weekend this coming Saturday/Sunday.

On Saturday they make the trip along the M62 to the Hull Arena to take on the Hull Pirates. Pirates are coming off a disappointing defeat in the North Cup Semi Final against the Sheffield Steeldogs.  They are still challenging at the top of the league and have had the better of the Hawks in previous games this season. Blackburn, however have made some additions to the squad and Head Coach James Neil feels they can give them a better game this time around. Face off is 6pm.

On Sunday they have another 200 mile round trip as they visit Nottingham to play the local Lions. This time it is the Hawks who have the upper hand in head to head games this season as the Lions struggle to compete in the division after promotion. One thing about the Lions though is their determination and pride, no pun intended. They never give up and leave everything on the ice for 60 minutes and Hawks will have to bring their A game to take the points. Face off here is at the later time of 19.30hrs.

Don’t forget you can follow these games through Shona’s excellent updates on the Blackburn Hawks Match Night Live  facebook group.

If you cannot travel to the games you can still get your hockey fix. Why not go to the Blackburn Arena on Sunday evening where the Blackburn Hawks2 have a home fixture against the Altrincham Aces.  Face of here is 17.30hrs.
