Blackburn Hawks Ice Hockey Club are saddened to announce the departure of Co Owner Carl Everitt.

Carl was a key figure in setting up Evermax Events Ltd with Partner Graham Lomax and took control of the club four years ago and was instrumental in helping transition a failing business into the success it is today, culminating in winning The M56 Cup, The Moralee League Cup & Moralee Play Offs this last season. It’s fair to say that the business has changed 100% with Carl and Graham at the helm.

Outside of the busy Hockey schedule Carl also has other interests and these must now take priority as he has a fledgling new business venture of his own as well as a busy home life, and we as club fully understand and we must respect that and the decision he has made, he leaves with the club in a better shape than he found it.

Carl Everitt of Blackburn Hawks looks on as his team prepare for their final against Billingham Stars at the Blillingham Ice Forum.

Graham (Lomax) has moved quickly to fill the void by appointing Three new Directors and a none executive Chairman to help spread the workload and keep the ship steady and on course.

We wish Carl all the best in his future endeavours and hope to see him in his usual seat once the season starts again.

Graham Lomax Commented.
“I’ll always be grateful to Carl for agreeing in the first place to become my business partner, I had a plan and a vision for where I wanted the club to go, and he shared my passion to make this happen, It’s difficult in any business to find someone as like-minded, but with Carl it was instant in how we were to go about achieving our goals and objectives, Carl’s business and admin skills more than equalled my hands on front of office skillset.
I’d like to go on record to say, there is no way on Earth I could have achieved what we have without my partner by my side, I’ll always be indebted for that.

Thank You my friend xx“

Carl had the following to say.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity I’ve had this past 4 years, to Co-Own and Operate the Blackburn Hawks, alongside Graham. From our first season, gaining Elite Status & operating during Covid, which offered some hope to our athletes and supporters, to winning multiple trophies last season including Playoff and League Cup double was incredible and created memories that will stay with me forever.

Now the season has finished, I’ve been able to reflect on my time at the club and decided that my time as Co-Owner/Director/Operator is to come to an end, giving me the opportunity to focus on my young family and other professional commitments.

As I depart, The Club welcomes, Mark Smith as Non-exec Chair along with Steve Hirst, Darren Wilson and Scott Jenkinson as Directors to support Graham in delivering the Clubs ambitions moving forwards and I thank them all for agreeing to support the club and wish Graham and all involved the very best for the future, which I’m confident is incredibly bright in Blackburn.

Finally, I wish to thank Dominic Osman and Ollie Lomax for their hardwork and dedication over the seasons (and often their counsel), also I thank all of the players for the commitment and sacrifice they have demonstrated whenever they have pulled on a Hawks Jersey and ultimately the supporters; you have been truly immense and have kept the faith through the hard times and absolutely deserve the recent success, for this I’m eternaly grateful and wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I look forward to seeing you all at games and enjoying the club as a fan once again.”
