Hawks Secure Dmitri Between the Pipes

The Blackburn Hawks are pleased to confirm the signing of Dmitri Zimozdra, who joins the club ahead of the new season to strengthen the team between the pipes.

With Harrison expressing ambitions to step back up to National League level, the club acted swiftly to secure a high-quality replacement.

Head Coach Andy explained the process behind the move:

“As soon as I knew Harrison had aspirations to jump back up to National League level, I encouraged him to do so. However, I knew that we needed to act quickly to secure a replacement, which was my top priority during April and May — and I’m sure the Hawks fans will be pleased with this one.

Myself and Ollie were made aware that Dmitri was open to a conversation, so I picked up the phone and made it work. It’s perfect timing for Dmitri and his young family to have fewer games and more time at home, whilst still making a huge impact between the pipes.

Dmitri comes to us with a pedigree of EPL and National League hockey. He’ll fit nicely into the dressing room and we can’t wait to get going.”

Dmitri is equally enthusiastic about the move to Blackburn:

“I’m really excited to be joining Blackburn Hawks, a club with such a long and proud history and a winning culture. What the club achieved last year by winning the treble was incredibly impressive.

The goal is the same again this season, and I’m excited to be part of it.”

With proven experience at EPL and National League level, Dmitri brings composure, quality, and leadership to the crease as the Hawks look to build on last season’s remarkable treble-winning campaign.
