Everyone at the Blackburn Hawks is delighted to announce that Sam Warnock will be back in a Hawks jersey for the 2026/27 campaign. A familiar face both on and off the ice, Sam’s commitment, versatility and team-first attitude continue to make him a valuable part of the organisation.

Coach Ollie:

“Sam Warnock would do anything for the Blackburn Hawks, no questions asked. He’s the sort of player and person every coach wants in their dressing room.

An adopted Lancastrian now, I simply can’t imagine a world where Sam isn’t wearing Hawks colours. Over the years he’s played up and down the lineup, stepped in at forward when needed, and although he didn’t get as much ice time as he’d have liked down the stretch last season, there was never a complaint. He just gets on with the job and is always ready to do whatever is asked of him.

Sam has been with us since the rebuild began and has helped the club collect five NIHL1 trophies along the way. That’s an unbelievable return for the shy kid from Teesside who walked through our doors eight years ago. This season we’ll be looking for Sam to continue playing to his strengths and being the reliable presence he’s always been. He’s a quiet and unassuming guy, but I know exactly how much this club means to him, and I love that.

Welcome back, Sam.”

Sam Warnock:

“I’m delighted to be back at Blackburn for another season. To be part of this organisation is an honour. The professionalism and values of this club are second to none.

Since arriving in 2019, I’ve never looked back. I may not be from the area, but I’ve always bought into what this club means to the city and to everyone connected with it. The support we’ve received over the years has been incredible, and it’s something I never take for granted.

I’m hoping we can bring more trophies back to Blackburn and build on what we achieved last season. I can’t wait to get back on the ice and see everyone at the rink in September.”
