The Hawks continue to strengthen their roster for 2026/27 with the addition of Finnish forward Elmeri. A player with an impressive track record at both National League and European professional levels, Elmeri adds further quality to an already exciting squad.

Coach Andy:

“It’s great to bring Elmeri on board for the coming season.

This is a massive coup for Blackburn Hawks Ice Hockey Club. Ollie and I have worked hard to assemble a talented and exciting group of players, and Elmeri is the cherry on top.

A former Sheffield Steeldog, he’s a proven point scorer at National League level. He’s also produced at over a point-per-game pace in the Alps Hockey League and spent last season competing in Mestis, Finland’s second-highest professional league. His résumé speaks for itself and he’s a player who will add quality and experience to our lineup.

Most importantly, he’s a great kid and someone who will fit into our dressing room perfectly. We can’t wait to welcome him to Blackburn in August when training camp gets underway.”

Elmeri:

“Hello Hawks fans, I hope you’re all enjoying your summer! I’m very excited to be joining Blackburn and getting the opportunity to play in front of such a passionate crowd.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about the club and the way things are done in Blackburn. After speaking with several people within the organisation, it was an easy decision for me and I’m really looking forward to getting started.

I’m excited for the season ahead and hopefully together we can bring some silverware back to Blackburn. I can’t wait to meet everyone and see you all at the rink soon.”
