The EIHA Disciplinary Committee has given Canadian forward Jon Adams a two-game ban effective of the final league game of the season, away against Sutton, on the 9 March.
Adams was handed a total of 45 minutes penalty time for a ‘travesty of game’ in the HAWKS’ final home game of the season against Solway.
Many had feared the free-scoring import could be banned until the end of the campaign, including key fixtures in the Northern Cup and the Moralee Playoff Weekend in Dumfries.
However, Adams is expected to return to the side as early as next weekend when the Hawks take on the Royal Navy Kings in a challenge game, and will feature in the Northern Cup final if Blackburn make it through the league stage.
Adams has become a firm favourite among the Hawks faithful since joining the team in November. The 24-year-old has previously played with King Wild and South Muskoka Shield in Canada’s GMHL, and also had a spell with Malungs IF in Sweden.
