The Blackburn HAWKS are pleased to announce the return of NIHL Player of the Year, Adam Brittle, and the signing of his brother Luke Brittle from the Chelmsford Chieftains.
The pair – who were officially unveiled to fans at the team’s presentation night – join brother Daniel, who recently penned a one year deal with the East Lancashire club alongside Head Coach Jared Owen.
“Addie”, finished the 2013/14 season as the Hawks top points and goal scorer and was recognised as the most outstanding player of the year by his peers, in winning the NIHL Player of the Year at the Playoff Weekend in Dumfries.
Luke, who spent last season with NIHL S1’s Chelmsford Chieftains, finished the year with 36 points in 25 games. He has also represented Great Britain at under-20 and under-18 level as well as starring for the EPL’s Telford Tigers.
Speaking to BlackburnHawks.com, Head Coach, Jared Owen, said: “I’m really excited to have Adam back with the Hawks for the new season. I think anyone who saw him play last season knows the impact he had on our team and his ability to excel at this level – and higher – is easy to see. I’ve been talking with him since the season ended and he really enjoyed his time in Blackburn and was keen to come back.
“This is a massive boost for us – he’s as dangerous on the penalty kill as he is in a 5 on 5 situations as his speed and skill put defenders on the back foot. He was a real leader for the team last season and helped drive the team.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him play together with Luke for the first time this year. I think that the partnership has the potential to be really beneficial for us in the new season.”
