Blackburn HAWKS Playoff winning Captain Chris Arnone will be returning to lead the team again for the 2013/14 season. 23 year old Arnone will be leading the team for a second season and is looking to build on last year’s success of winning the first silverware in the Hawks history.
Head Coach Jared Owen talked about Arnone’s value to the team:
“Chris has been the leading defenceman on the Hawks team for a number of years, and last year we felt the time was right to make him the captain of the team. He’s grown in to the role over the course of the season – he really stepped his game up over the playoff semi-finals and finals leading the team to its first trophy in 23 years. That effort saw him pick up the Supporters player of the year award at this seasons presentation.
“Dangie are I are looking to seeing Chris continue to develop his game, but also continue to grow in the captains role and lead the team forward. He’s a local lad and he knows what it means to the team and the fans to have won that first trophy and he’s looking to see the team compete for more silverware next season.”
Chris will be back in his familiar number 22 jersey next season.
