Blackburn HAWKS will have a familiar face lining up for them next season as forward Ric Hughes returns to the team after a season away with Deeside Dragons.

Following negotiations over the summer, the 27-year-old forward put pen-to-paper yesterday for the 2013/14 season.

A proven goal-scorer (he led the Hawks in points for the 2011/12 season) Hughes is a popular figure with players and fans alike and will once again pull on the #58 jersey as Blackburn defend their championship.

Hawks Player-Coach Jared Owen said: “I am really happy to have Ric back on-board for the new season. He left us on good terms last year and the door was always open for him to return when the time was right. He understands the systems we like to play and is a good guy to have in the dressing room.

“He has a very strong offensive game and we will be looking to him to bring that to the team again – I think adding Ric gives us some real depth on our forward lines and allows us to spread the scoring evenly through the team.”
