Blackburn Hawks Golf Day – Player Announcement

Ross Kennedy 2018-2019

What did Ross bring to the club?

One word, quality. Ross really is one of the best young hockey players in the NIHL National League I believe. He can play both defence and forward easily, and he has a really high hockey IQ. We probably should of signed him a couple of years earlier. Not only was Ross a great acquisition on the ice, he is a smashing lad too. Along with his family, I believe Ross really enjoyed his time as a Hawk and hopefully later in his career he might return.

My favourite memory of Ross in a Hawks shirt?

Probably anchoring the power play on the blue line whenever we needed a goal. He’s not the biggest of lads but he has such a powerful and accurate shot. The amount of times we tee’d him up for a one timer and he sent a laser into the net just shows how valuable he was last season.

What do I think Ross will be like as a golfer?

Well he does play a bit, so I’m expecting a lot from him. I think he will plot his way around the course, looking to shoot a low score, so he can rub his Tigers team mate Nick Oliver’s nose in it. A handy asset to choose for a platinum sponsor I think.
