Blackburn HAWKS are pleased to announce the signing of top EPL forward Adam Brittle from the MK Lightning.
Brittle, who first signed for the Lightning in 2009 arrives in Blackburn with a reputation as an excellent play maker who will provide a significant boost to the teams attack.
Hawks player-coach Jared Owen said: “We found out earlier this summer Adam might be available this season. He was looking at playing a slightly lighter schedule and was struggling to marry his work commitments with time on the ice. It’s a big ask travelling up and down the motorway on your own every weekend with work on Monday.
“We had some early chats and he has been attending a few summer hockey sessions. Over time, everything fell into place and this week we were able to come to an agreement and put pen-to-paper.
“Adam is an excellent skater, who can handle the puck very well. He’s a top play maker but he also has an eye for the goal and I think what he will bring to the team will be invaluable. He’s come from a team that have previously won the EPL title, so he knows what it takes to win games.
“I’ve known Addie since he was four and we played together when he made his senior hockey debut at 14. He was an EPL regular at 16 and since leaving Telford has played for Wightlink Raiders, Swindon Wildcats and more recently the MK Lightning.
“This signing is a real step forward for the Hawks and I’m sure Addie will quickly become a fan-favourite. I’m grateful to the Arena management for their support in being able to bring a player of this calibre in and the hard work Alan Amos has done to bring in new high-profile sponsors that help make this all possible as we look to continue to build a strong team for the upcoming season.”
Adam will wear the #26 shirt for the Hawks this season.
