The stars of the Blackburn HAWKS paid a visit to their new sponsors on Thursday and took the opportunity to show off the team’s new home jersey.

Club captain Chris Arnone, Head Coach Jared Owen, Netminder Daniel Brittle and star forward Daniel MacKriel met with staff at the Baxi Group in Preston to pose for photographs and talk about the upcoming season.

And if the players thought that they would receive star treatment they were in for a shock, as they were promptly put to work assembling, checking and packing boilers and heating goods for Baxi customers across the country.

Baxi staff also got to try on the new Hawks jersey which will see its on-ice debut against the Sheffield Spartans on the 22 September at the Blackburn Arena.

The new jersey follows the recent trend of bold, aggressive striping in the traditional Hawks black, red and gold.

The jersey features returning sponsors Chiquito Mexican Restaurant and Bar, the Landlords National Property Group and Bell Fire Surrounds.

New to this season are sponsors the Baxi Group, Citroen BCC and leading tools specialist Snap-On. The Lancashire Telegraph also appears on the new design. as the Hawks Official Media Partner.

Hawks spokesman Alan Amos said: “The Baxi group were fantastic hosts and it was great to meet with some of the staff on the shop floor to show off the new jersey.

“The players had a lot of fun mucking in on the production line and the enthusiasm about this new partnership is very encouraging for all parties. We look forward to welcoming some of the new faces we met today at the Arena on the 22nd.”
