The Blackburn HAWKS are pleased to welcome back forward Ric Hughes for the 2014/15 season.

Ric rejoined the club last season after a short stint with NIHL N2 club Deeside Dragons. Prior to that he had been a mainstay of the Hawks forward line, featuring in four previous campaigns and tallying 17 points last season.

Hawks Head Coach, Jared Owen, said: “Ric had his season cut short by an injury last year, but worked really hard to make it back for the playoffs and although not 100% fit he still gave his all for the team when he was out there and played a big part in turning the semi final round for us.

“Ric’s a strong offensive player and can put the puck in the net when given the opportunity, he brings more scoring depth to our roster as we look to threaten when all of our lines are out on the ice. He’s a great team guy and good in the dressing room. He is well liked by both the players and the fans here in Blackburn and I’m really happy to have him back for this upcoming season.”

Deeside were D2 – they signed Rick Aaron and Tom – and others – in the hope of winning a place in D1 – think they all played at Blackburn that year against the Eagles in the red of Deeside
