The Blackburn HAWKS are pleased to announce the signing of Jake Nurse from the Manchester Minotaurs.

The 23-year-old forward has been part of the Altrincham based outfit since 2006 having played at both NIHL and EPL level with the Manchester Phoenix. He also served as team captain and assistant captain for the Minotaurs who were previously known as the Trafford Metros.

Nurse will make his on-ice debut later this afternoon when the Hawks take on the Whitley Bay Warriors.

Hawks Player-Coach said: “I’m excited to pick up Jake for the rest of the season he’s a player that has impressed us while playing at Manchester and a guy we’ve wanted to get him on our team.

“When the possibility came up that he would be available we wanted to make sure that he became a hawks player. He plays a solid two way game and brings a physical presence to our team.

“He finishes his checks on the forecheck and that’s something we’ve been missing as a team.

“We’re delighted to have him on our roster and looking forward to his contribution to the team.”
