The Blackburn HAWKS are pleased to announce the return of forward Matt Viney for 2014/15 season.

Viney, now in his sixth consecutive year with the club, will rejoin his teammates as the Hawks go in search of their first league title, hoping to go one better than last seasons record equalling second spot.

Viney contributed 12 points last season, of which nine were assists and three goals. He was the Hawks’ 10th overall points scorer last season.

Speaking to BlackburnHawks.com, Head Coach, Jared Owen, said: “Viney is a good two way centre man who is strong in his own zone and is able to create chances offensively for his team mates on offence.

“He works hard in the corners and is difficult to knock off the puck and I’m really happy to have him back in a Hawks uniform this season. I’m looking to Viney to increase his goals total this season, he has the ability and we’re looking for all of our offensive lines to be a threat when they are out on the ice.”
