Words from Dom:
It’s a pleasure to announce Kane’s return. He had a tough break last year, as he was taking massive steps forward just before his season-ending injury. After speaking with him over the summer, it was clear he wants to challenge himself, improve his game, and crack the lineup. It’s no secret we’ve signed some big names, and Kane wants to be part of that, to learn from it and contribute. He’s earned the respect of the guys and deserves this opportunity.
The bottom line is that we’re in NIHL1, and players will occasionally be unavailable for personal reasons. We’ll also have injuries during the season, and we want to keep our roster competitive. We need youth to complement the experience we’ve signed this year. Based on the rate Kane was improving last season, and if he continues progressing, he will definitely bring something to the table. He’s big, plays with an edge, and can find the net when he has the puck. I’m really looking forward to working with him this season, and I’m very happy he’s back to continue his development with us. I’d also like to thank the Aces for their continued support as part of our two-way agreement.
Kane on Blackburn:
“I’d like to thank the Blackburn Hawks organisation for giving me this opportunity to help them achieve their goals and objectives for the upcoming season. The experience will help me grow as both a person and a player. I look forward to seeing you all again this season.”
